About PVC

Polyvinyl chloride, referred to as PVC  is composed of vinyl chloride in initiator polymerization under the action of a thermoplastic resin. Is a homopolymer of vinyl chloride. Vinyl chloride homopolymer and vinyl chloride copolymer called vinyl chloride resin. PVC is white powder of amorphous structure, the degree of support. The molecular weight of the PVC industry in general 50000 ~ 120000 range, with larger polydispersity, molecular weight increases with decreasing polymerization temperature; no fixed melting point, 80 ~ 85 begins to soften, 130 ℃ for viscoelastic state, 160 ~ 180 begins to change into the viscous flow has better mechanical properties; the tensile strength, impact strength of about 60MPa, 5 ~ 10kJ/m2; has excellent dielectric properties. But the light and heat stability is poor, at 100 DEG C or after long time exposure to sunlight, will decompose and produce hydrogen chloride, and further Autocatalytic Decomposition, causing discoloration, physical and mechanical properties decreased rapidly, in practical applications must be added stabilizer in order to improve the stability of heat and light. PVC is very hard, the solubility is very poor, can only dissolve in cyclohexanone, two trichloroethane and tetrahydrofuran and a solvent, organic and inorganic acid, alkali, salt are stability, chemical stability decreases with increasing temperature. PVC dissolved in acetone carbon disulfide or acetone mixed solvent of benzene, used in dry or wet spinning and fiber, called polyvinyl chloride, is difficult to burn, acid and alkali resistant, anti microbial, wear-resistant and with warmth and good elasticity.
