SBS styrenic thermoplastic elastomer, styrene, butadiene is three block copolymer monomer, the characteristics of both plastic and rubber, known as "the third generation of synthetic rubber". Similar to styrene butadiene rubber, SBS and water, acid, alkali and other contact, has excellent tensile strength, surface friction coefficient, good low temperature performance, excellent electrical properties, good processing performance and other characteristics, has become the largest consumer of thermoplastic elastomer.
SBS has a thermoset rubber and incomparable advantages in processing application:
(1) available thermoplastic processing equipment for processing molding, extrusion, blow molding, such as injection, molding speed than traditional vulcanized rubber technology fast;
(2) without curing, curing process of thermoset rubber can be omitted in general in the process, and less equipment investment, low energy consumption, simple process, short processing cycle, high production efficiency, low processing cost;
(3) plus angular excess material can be reused many times, saving resources, environmental protection.
Now the SBS is mainly used in rubber products, resin modifier, binder and asphalt modifier four should domain. In the rubber products, SBS molded products mainly used in shoemaking industry (sole), extrusion products mainly used in rubber hose and belt; as the resin modifier, a small amount of SBS and polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS) low temperature performance and impact strength of the blends can significantly improve the products; SBS as binder with high solids content, quick drying, low temperature resistance characteristics; SBS as modifier of asphalt and asphalt road construction can be significantly improved asphalt weathering resistance and load performance.
